As in previous times, YOD Abyssinia Cultural Restaurant once again had a great night hosting United Nations Women guests that included Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director for Policy & Program Mr. John Hendra, on the 18th of October 2011. The guests arrived in Addis Ababa for discussing issues on women among other important global issues.
YOD Abyssinia served the famous national cuisine on the ‘mesob’ - a traditional serving platter, which the guests, of various nationals, enjoyed the experience of dining with their fingers. In the mean time, performers in their traditional outfit thump on drums performing traditional songs and the dancers went off the stage to entertain the guests at their table inviting to try the native dances.
Cultural food, music and dances were not all YOD Abyssinia had to offer for the UN Women’s that is playing a great role on gender equality and empowerment of women. Ethiopia’s ‘Cultural Ambassador’ presented a complementary cake in their honor and Mr. John Hendra along with the founding General Manager of YOD Abyssinia Cultural Restaurant Mr. Tizazu Kore sliced.
