YOD Abyssinia Sister Companies Celebrated Employees’ Annual Day
YOD Abyssinia celebrated annual employees’ day in Bishofetu/Debre Zeit on 20 November 2011, on a vibrant event graced by renowned celebrities, prominent business leaders, long term customers, former employees and more than 200 current employees of YOD Abyssinia. Especial to the occasion, YOD Abyssinia Tour Operation and Travel Agent has been added to the list of sister companies of YOD Abyssinia.
The event comprised of group hiking, games, and sport entertainments competitions among employees. Later on, the founder and General Manager of YOD Abyssinia, Ato Tizazu Kore, made a short welcoming remark. stating ‘YOD Abyssinia has made significant achievements in the hospitality sector not only locally but also globally, and this success would not have been achieved without the hard work of its loyal employees who were able to push the speed of progression forward, propelling the company to higher levels.”
In this long waited event, YOD Abyssinia honored and gave out financial awards and certificates to close to 45 outstanding employees with high performance and who achieved an ‘excellent’ rating in the assessment for the year 2010/2011. The Cultural Music Band of Bole Branch won this year’s financial award for excellent group achievement. The newly established tour and travel staff were also awarded a trophy in recognition to their well started operation. Financial awards, certificates, trophies were handed to employees over by guests of honors the renowned Artist Abrar Abdo, and Ato Belayneh Tafesse country director of Gladney Center For Adoption.
From the guests, Artist Abirar Abdo stressed on the importance of such events, and commended the quality service YOD Abyssinia provides from the entrance, the reception to the catering staff. He also said ‘. . . one thing that I always observe from YOD Abyssinia is the team work. He further said, ‘. . . it is amazing how YOD Abyssinia maintains its communal work and excellent coordination that suites international guests and head of states.’
Ato Tizazu in his part said, ‘. . . YOD Abyssinia strongly believes that human resources is the foundation of its success, and we do our best to provide suitable working environment, pay and incentives where employees can stay motivated to achieve excellence and high level of creativity, which in turn is reflected in the highly rated services provided at the cultural restaurant.’
‘This team building, employee motivation and excellent work tradition will continue to enhance us to higher commitment” said the YOD Abyssinia Cultural Music Band director, Ato Adugna Chekol, upon receiving the award the band earned at the event.
Finally, the event was concluded with the whole YOD Abyssinia staff handing a memorial gift to the founding general manager, Ato Tizazu and his wife and manager of YOD Abyssinia Cultural Restaurant.
