The January 31st 2012 Africa Union’s Pan African University Fund Raising Luncheon was delightfully catered by YOD Abyssinia Cultural Restaurant with varieties of 35 Ethiopian traditional fasting and non-fasting cuisines.
The fund raising ceremony was opened as director HRST Madam V. NGOSI made an opening speech to the attendees that included members of the AU, the UN,
ALMA, NORAD, PMI, Islamic Development Bank, African Development Bank and representatives of the private sector. Consequently, YOD Abyssinia Cultural Band took over the stage with entertainments of different nations folkloric songs.
Guests were also served coffee as its genuine Ethiopian ceremony along popcorn beautifies the event, the traditionally dressed attendant moved around the table pouring the delicious coffee from her unique hand made coffee pot.
After the fund raising and supporting event took over, the final ceremony was to slice the big PAN Africa cake especially prepared for the event. Slicing the cake, head of education at the AU, DR. Beatrice Njeng, PAU Fund Raising Specialist Ms Hewan Teka Legesse and representing the Ethiopia private sector Mr. Tizazu Kore gathered around the table.
Concluding the event “Great food, Great entertainment by YOD Abyssinia” commented Ms Hewan PAU Fund Raising Specialist commending the job of YOD Abyssinia introducing Ethiopia’s heritage through its cultural foods and drinks, coffee ceremony, songs and dances.
It is to be remembered that YOD Abyssinia Cultural Restaurant being the only cultural restaurant served and introduce Ethiopians traditional foods and coffee to the participants of the 18th African Union Summit that took place from January 23 - 30 of 2012.
